As part of the fellowship’s learning activities, participants worked in groups to explore occupational health risks faced by vulnerable worker populations through real media examples.
On the 21st of March fellows presented their findings based on publicly available reports, highlighting key occupational health risks affecting migrant workers and child labourers. This was followed by insights and reflections from Dr. Omer El Nagieb, emphasizing the health challenges and protections needed for young workers. The session also explored the health risks faced by migrant workers, presented by Dr. Hader Mousa, shedding light on the unique vulnerabilities and working conditions experienced by migrant populations across different sectors.
This session reinforced the importance of evidence-based reporting and storytelling in bringing visibility to underserved and high-risk worker groups, and the role of media in advocating for safer and healthier work environments.
