Kuwait Disability Workshop – 10 March 2023

Dr Omer El-Nagieb COEHA CEO participated in the Kuwait Disability Workshop at the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) in Kuwait City on the 9th – 10th March 2023. He gave a series of talks on:

• The World of Work, Disability and Benefits – The U.K. Experience.
• Assessing Capability for Work
• Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefits
• Retirement on Ill Health Grounds
• Occupational Health – An Overview

Exactly like what’s happening in the U.K, an excellent social security system is being bruised and taken advantage of!

The workshop was well attended and generated interesting discussions and interest in occupational medicine. It also highlighted the gap in training in disability medicine – the FOM website still states the DDAM is under review.
