The “Occupational Health: An Overview for Healthcare Workers in Qatar” event, held recently, aimed to provide healthcare professionals with a deeper understanding of occupational health in Qatar. Designed for doctors and nurses, the event highlighted the growing importance of occupational health in the country and introduced career opportunities in this field.

Keynote speaker Mr. Nasir Jaham Al Kuwari, former CEO of QChem, provided an overview of the occupational health landscape in Qatar. Dr. Omer El Nagieb, Chief Medical Officer at COEHA, delivered a lecture on the fundamentals of occupational health, while mental health specialist Mr. Mohammed Shbeb shared insights on promoting mental well-being in the workplace.

A key highlight of the event was the collaboration between the Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health Africa (COEHA) and the Global Studies Institute (GSI). This partnership aims to build capacity, create knowledge-sharing opportunities, and push the boundaries of occupational health and safety education in Qatar and beyond. By fostering connections between experts and institutions, COEHA and GSI are committed to bridging gaps and advancing the field of occupational health in the region.
