Meet the Fellows | Monadil Abdalla

The Media Fellowship in Occupational Health (MFOH) brings together journalists and media professionals from across Africa to strengthen occupational health reporting through impactful storytelling. Through our Meet the Fellows series, we’re introducing the people bringing these stories to life.

Meet Monadil Abdalla from Sudan, a multimedia journalist with over nine years of experience in broadcast journalism. Passionate about public affairs and human-centered storytelling, Monadil is committed to using journalism to amplify underrepresented voices and raise awareness of the issues affecting workers and communities.

Here’s what he had to say about his fellowship experience:

“This fellowship transformed the way I see occupational health. It opened my eyes to the daily risks faced by workers whose safety and rights are often overlooked. Beyond the valuable knowledge I gained, I had the opportunity to connect with inspiring fellows from across Africa, broadening my perspective and strengthening my belief in the power of journalism to raise awareness and drive change. I now feel inspired to produce impactful stories through documentaries, podcasts, and short videos that promote occupational health across Sudan and Africa.”
